A report published by the National Employment Sector of the Public Authority for Manpower shows Kuwaitis who have registered for work since the beginning of this year prefer to work in the private sector.
The report, a copy of which has been obtained by Al-Qabas, indicates 8,537 Kuwaitis or 53.2 percent of all the registered individuals have shown their interest to work in the private sector.
The report indicates this figure is the highest compared to nine years ago, and this percentage is expected to rise by yearend.
The report pointed out those who had registered to work in the ‘private sector’ between 2010 and 2020 was between 5 to 7 thousand Kuwaitis, while the highest number of citizens who opted to work in government sector was more than 65 per cent.
