Acting Director General of the General Administration of Customs, Suleiman Al-Fahd, said the administration is waiting for the graduation of 529 students — 471 male and 58 female — who are part of the customs inspection course at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.

Following the graduation ceremony they will be absorbed by the customs department auditors, inspectors, security and safety personnel and will be posted at its various outlets — ports and customs centers. They are expected to be appointed at the end of the current year after they are given job grades by the Civil Service Commission.

Meanwhile, in a press statement Al-Fahd stated that the administration will address the CSC to increase the allowances of security and safety employees and customs auditors to bring them on par with their colleagues in the customs inspection department, in accordance with the new customs organizational structure.

He pointed out the open door policy has been applied since he took office, indicating that he listened to some observations that concern the customs side, and considered the transactions and demands of the visitors and gave directions to take the appropriate decision in this regard in accordance with the legal regulations and systems, after making sure that all required documents are attached and checking the validity of the data contained therein.
