Abdullah Fadous Al-Rajhi, spokesman for the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation and Director of the Air Transport Department, Kuwait International Airport is poised to experience a 13% surge in passenger traffic and a 15% increase in aircraft movements during the current summer season, as compared to the previous year.

The ongoing summer season has witnessed the transit of 5.75 million passengers, marking a rise from last year’s 5.07 million passengers. Additionally, the number of flights operated during this season has ascended to 45 thousand flights, compared to the 39 thousand flights recorded in the preceding season, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Rajhi’s statement, indicates that the projected passenger count for the entire 2023 stands at 15.5 million passengers, encompassing arrivals and departures.

This estimate contrasts with the 12.46 million passengers recorded in 2022. Among the prominent destinations that exhibit heightened activity at Kuwait International Airport this summer season are Dubai, Istanbul, Cairo, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, Amman, and Sohag.
