The coronavirus (COVID-19) infected 486 people in Kuwait in the past 24 hours, raising the infection cases to 139,308, since the outbreak of the pandemic. 2 patients died, bringing the death toll to 861.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 7,398, with 92 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, adding that some 6,250 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,042,235 so far.
The ministry had earlier reported that some 623 more people had recovered from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 131,049. The spokesman went on to urge citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
