The Traffic and Operations Sector of the General Traffic Department organized a number of traffic security campaigns in the Sulaibiya Industrial Area, Hawalli and Maidan Hawalli, in cooperation with the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the General Department of Residence Investigation, the Ministry of Commerce and the Public Authority for Industry, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, and the Municipality Kuwait.
The Public Relations and Media Department at the General Traffic Department, Major Abdullah Buhassan said in a statement that the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector continued its field campaigns on the violating workshops in the industrial areas, and those campaigns resulted in issuing 420 various traffic violations, referring 12 vehicles to the reservation garage, and seizing 3 vehicles reported stolen by their owners, reports a local Arabic daily.
Buhassan explained that the campaign also resulted in the issuance of 51 violation reports by the Ministry of Commerce inspectors, in addition to cutting power supply to 13 workshops and garages by the Ministry of Electricity and Water inspectors, in addition to issuing 63 arrest reports by the Public Authority for Industry.
He pointed out that the detectives of the General Administration of Residency Investigations and the campaign participants were able to seize 17 violators of the residence and labor law, while the Kuwait Municipality inspectors placed 260 warning stickers on neglected vehicles, in addition to seizing 6 vehicles that did not have any data in the computer, noting that these vehicles were seized by detectives from the Anti-counterfeiting and Forgery Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
Buhassan said that through the checkpoints, the traffic police were able to arrest an Asian resident who was staying in the country illegally for 10 years and an Arab resident who was in an abnormal condition, and 5 juveniles for driving without license.
