The Head of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Andrea Ammon, said 42 cases of the new mutant Omicron have been detected in 10 countries in the European Union, Arabic daily Al Qabas reported.

Amon indicated that infections with the Omicron mutant were mild, or asymptomatic and disclosed the ECDC “will provide effective vaccines against the Omicron mutant within two weeks.”

Meanwhile, the European Medicines Agency reported that two treatments that received the license in October have proven effective against the Corona virus.
