Despite urges by the Ministry of Health to avoid gatherings to limit the spread of coronavirus, there were some who ignored the warnings and consequently, 40 people were infected with the coronavirus after attending a social event, Al Qabas daily reported. Health officials have repeatedly stressed the need to adhere to health requirements for dealing with the Coronavirus, but there were those who were infected due to their presence at many gatherings, and they came into contact with others.

This contributed to the high rates of infections, especially among the elderly. Health officials indicated that the lax in respect to the health regulations has dangerous health consequences for people, and those they come in contact with, especially since the virus may not show clear symptoms on the patient, and then, the disease is transmitted to others without his or her knowledge. This is likely what happened a few days ago when the infection spread among forty people after they joined a social event. The daily reported that some of them were transferred to intensive care due to complications from Covid 19.

Health officials noted that there are too many gatherings, which are continuing in large numbers currently organized in some locations, such as farms, chalets and stables, even though the camping season was cancelled by the health authorities. This contributed to the relatively high infection rates during this January, especially with the lack of adherence to social or physical distancing, among citizens or expats.
