The General Department of Criminal Investigation is in the process of summoning 40 expatriates after their forged IDs were found inside a printing ‘den’ on Monday afternoon. The summons was issued following the arrest of an unidentified Asian who was involved in printing fake IDs.
A local Arabic daily said a ‘block’ has been placed under the names of the individuals to prevent the renewal of their work permits.
The source stated that the CID officers found various forged documents like medical certificates, driver’s licenses, and civil IDs. The suspect has admitted that he was involved in forging the IDs over a period of time.
A security source said that they were able to arrest the prime suspect by following a lead they got when an expatriate tried to enter oil installations using forged documents and was caught by the facility’s guards.
