36,332 traffic violations were recorded, 32 vehicles and 25 motorcycles seized, and 48 were referred to the traffic detention center, while 39 minors were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution Office, 11 vehicles were seized wanted by the security and judicial authorities, and 33 persons were arrested wanted by the General Administration of Criminal Execution and the Civil Execution Department, Al Jarida.

The arrests and seizures are part of the traffic sector and the operations of the Interior Ministry continued organizing of traffic security campaigns to pursue reckless drivers and perpetrators of traffic violations that endanger the lives of road users.

A source spoke to Al Jarida daily that Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh launched the campaigns against reckless people in various areas of the country, especially as there has been reports of an increase in recklessness, which endangers the lives of road users, and causes inconvenience to citizens and expats.

The statistics issued by the Traffic Operations Sector indicated that the Traffic Operations Department ranked first in recording the number of violations, which amounted to 8,636, followed by “Capital Governorate Traffic” with 6362 violations, and Hawalli Traffic Department ranked third with 6345, and then “Ahmadi Governorate Traffic” with 4776, followed by Al-Jahra Governorate Traffic Department with 4,570 violations, then Farwaniya Governorate with 2,947, followed by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Traffic Department with 1,895 violations.

The statistic showed that the traffic patrol officers were able to arrest 39 minors driving without a driver’s license, and they were referred to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation – Juvenile Police Department, in preparation for referring them to the Juvenile Prosecution Office.
