The Public Prosecutor’s Office warned of criminal gangs specialized in electronic fraud, reported a local daily. The state department revealed that it received over 300 complaints from victims who were subjected to fraud by a criminal organization that tricked them into investing in their money, and invited them to download the ANYDESK application, which enabled its system to control the victims’ mobile phones and access their bank accounts, and then steal their money.
The Public Prosecution cautioned citizens and residents to not respond to any requests asking to download the said application and other apps for any purpose.
