A three-year-old girl killed her four-year-old sister by accidentally shooting her with a semi-automatic pistol in Texas, on Sunday, the US police stated.
A police official, located in the suburbs of Houston, Ed Gonzalez, explained that the child was able to reach a semi-automatic pistol loaded with bullets, and that later on the girl’s family members heard a gunshot, and upon reaching the spot where they heard the loud sound, they found their older daughter’s (4 year old) body.
This tragedy is the latest example of the dire effects of the proliferation of firearms in the United States. There are about 400 million weapons in circulation, and this number exceeds the population, while one in three adult owns at least one weapon.
