Intensive meetings are being held during the current period by the Ministers of Oil, Muhammad Al-Faris, Justice Jamal Al-Jalawi, and Public Works Rana Al-Faris to speed up the pace of concluding tender contracts for the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Resources, related to vegetation cover, which is affiliated with the United Nations (Iraq Compensation), before it is too late.

Government sources told Al-Rai “since Kuwait has agreed with the United Nations liaison point to implement these projects by 2024, contracts have not yet been concluded despite the lapse of three years from the period set by the United Nations to implement these projects.”

The sources explained that “the reason for the delay is due to the previously unsealed technical and financial bids at one time, while the technical bids for competing companies were supposed to be opened first and studied by the Agriculture Authority, and then the financial bids for companies that meet the technical conditions were opened, which led to the cancellation of the tender and resubmission before the deadline set by the United Nations.
