Statistics issued by the Kuwait University show most of its students study in theoretical faculties, while only 3 faculties Arts, Education and Sharia make up for 45% of the university’s students (19% education, 16% arts, and 10% Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies). On the other hand, the percentage of students in various medical specialties constituted only 5.8% of the total university students.

The statistics prepared by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning within the annual report for the academic year 2020-2021 showed medical students are distributed among five medical faculties — medicine, 2% of the total university students, and a similar percentage in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, and only 1% in the Faculty of Pharmacy, while the proportion of students in dentistry was only 0.5%, and in public health only 0.3%, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The statistics indicated that the proportion of students studying in the College of Engineering and Petroleum was 11% of the total students, while in social sciences the proportion was 9% and the same for students of the College of Science.

The figures showed that the percentage of students in the faculties of administrative sciences and law was 7% for each faculty, while the percentage of students in the Faculty of Life Sciences was 4%, and in architecture 1% of the total students of Kuwait University.
