The awareness campaign for “Oral and Dental Health for Children” was launched in the presence of the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr Khaled Al-Saeed and Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mustafa Reda, at the Mall 360 for three days, at the initiative of the dentist at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Dalal Al-Sabah.
A local Arabic daily said the event was held in coordination with the Dentistry Department of the Health Ministry. The 3-day campaign ends today, Sept 17. The aim was to examine about 2,000 children, while providing educational advice through innovative methods, to overcome the phenomenon of children’s fear of dental clinics.
A specialized team of pediatric dentists provided awareness advice during the campaign period, in addition to about 140 male and female volunteers from the Ministry of Health.
The campaign includes innovative methods to overcome the phenomenon of children’s fear of dentists, by combining the educational and entertaining aspect of the child, through a set of encouraging games, which carry educational and health messages.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health extends its thanks to the organizers of this initiative, and to all volunteers, appreciating their keenness to spread health awareness and medical education among children and parents.
