In Kuwait, temperatures are closely monitored through a network of 27 observation stations across the country.
Kuwait experiences one of the most significant rises in temperatures, with some areas even surpassing 50 degrees Celsius, as recorded at the Jahra station. However, temperature expectations for various regions remain open for the upcoming days, reports Al-Qabas daily.
As summer temperatures steadily increase, there are concerns about differentiating between officially approved temperature readings and those displayed on vehicles and other measuring instruments.
Dr. Hassan Dashti, the climate observer at the Meteorological Department of the General Administration of Civil Aviation, emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing accurate and reliable weather information, obtained through internationally accredited scientific measuring devices. These devices are used at 27 surface monitoring stations located on land and sea in different parts of the country.
The temperatures are measured transparently and in accordance with the standards set by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The monitoring stations operate around the clock, and their readings are analyzed using advanced and sophisticated computer systems in a scientific manner.
Dr. Dashti highlighted the importance of distinguishing between temperature measurements taken in the shade (officially approved) and those recorded under direct sunlight and in open-air conditions.
Temperatures can be influenced by the surrounding environment, and the accuracy and sensitivity of the thermometers used also play a crucial role in obtaining precise readings.
