Personnel from the General Traffic Department have issued 25,916 traffic citations during the past week from Nov 4 to 10 during security campaigns in several parts of the country and arrested residence and labor laws violators and people wanted by law.
According to the weekly statistics, 20,804 traffic violations that were issued, 117 vehicles and 18 motorbikes were impounded.
This is in addition to arresting 4 residence law violators, 8 who did not carry ID papers, and 22 persons wanted by including those who had been sentenced in absentia.
Two people were caught who were under the influence of drugs, 21 people were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and 41 others were put behind bars due to various reasons.
As for the campaigns organized by the General Administration of Rescue Police 5,112 traffic violations were recorded, 154 violators were arrested and 23 persons were referred to the Directorate-General of Drug Control.
