As many as 234 Indians, under the amnesty programme are expected to land at Indore airport on two special flights from Kuwait today. The Kuwait Airways flights are expected to land between 8 pm and 12.30am.  “We are expecting special flights, carrying Indian nationals, from Kuwait.

Additional district magistrate BBS Tomar said all of them will be screened. “Once cleared, they will be taken to designated facilities set up at Army in Bairagarh (Bhopal) for 14 days’ mandatory quarantine. Separate vehicles have been arranged for their transportation,” Tomar told TOI.

Those detected with Covid-19 symptoms will be taken to hospital. These flights were earlier scheduled to land in Bhopal, but were diverted to Indore because it has customs and immigration services, said an official.

Hectic preparations were on at Indore airport to ensure social distancing and provide a safe and sanitized environment for the arriving passengers. Airport director Sanyal said “We have markings at escalators, lifts, aerobridges, and even in toilets to ensure strict compliance of distancing norms.”
