This announcement was made in response to a parliamentary question raised by MP Osama Al-Shaheen regarding the progress of the “Second Ring Road” development initiative, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Minister of Public Works Dr. Amani Bouqmaz, in her response on behalf of PART said that the preliminary and final design work for the project has been completed following extensive traffic studies.

Meanwhile, Al-Momen further elaborated that the work outlined in the aforementioned agreement has been divided into three separate tenders. These include a tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads, intersections, highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, and additional services aimed at enhancing Khaled Youssef Al-Marzouq Street, stretching from Al-Jahra Road to Cairo Street, with a particular focus on Damascus Street.

The contract encompasses the construction of roads spanning 5 kilometers, the erection of 4 pedestrian bridges, the installation of two rainwater drainage pumping stations, and various other services, including intersection development.

She clarified that the specified timeframe for completing the tender process is 24 months, starting from the date of issuing the initiation order, provided that the necessary budget is secured to proceed with the tendering, awarding procedures, and subsequent implementation.
