The Ministry of Interior said 2,221 expatriates of residence law violators who were arrested between October 1 and May 10 have been referred for deportation.

Meanwhile the Al-Anba daily, quoting sources from the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Residence Affairs Investigation Department, said during the same period upon directives of the Ministry of Interior’s Assistant Undersecretary for Residence Affairs Major-General Anwar Al-Barjas, securitymen raided 22 fictitious domestic workers hiring offices and seized 106 expatriates, most of whom were reported absconding by their sponsors.

The Interior Ministry has called on citizens and residents not to shelter any workers if they are not on their sponsorship, and called on them to report such cases.
