Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs Mazen Al-Nahedh announced the withdrawal of licenses for 8 industrial plots and arresting 22 people for violating applicable laws and regulations and referring them to the Public Prosecution.

The minister said in a statement to KUNA the government is keen to develop and advance the industrial sector in order to achieve the vision of “New Kuwait 2035”, noting that the Public Authority for Industry has taken all legal measures against violators, reports Al-Jarida daily.

He pointed out the ministry is keen to make a quantum leap in the sector itself by following a clear vision in order to achieve the maximum possible industrial benefits, whether for the state or for investors.

He stressed the Industry Authority continues to stress on development goals, which contributes to the localization of industries in Kuwait and raises its contribution to supporting the national economy and increasing its efficiency as a non-oil strategic development sector.

Al-Nahedh stated that achieving the desired goals and objectives for the advancement of the industrial sector requires increasing the empowerment of serious applicants and industrial business owners to invest their industrial assets at a time when the law must be applied to violators. He pointed out that this gives a wider opportunity for those with development plans who are actually able to contribute to achieving the hoped-for industrial renaissance in the country.
