174 Thai nationals departed from Kuwait after the Thai embassy in Kuwait released an online registration service for those who expressed a wish to return, reported Al Rai daily.
174 Thai expats, some of whom work for Hyundai Engineering & Construction and a number of other contracting companies, who were forced to halt their construction projects following Kuwait going into full lockdown, including offenders, decided to leave during amnesty period.
The Thai embassy worked to arrange the flight and handle all the procedures for the operations of the flight including permits from the civil aviation and others, through the Kuwaiti and Thai foreign ministries. Thailand has allowed 200 nationals to enter the country from abroad daily, and the number has increased to 400 citizens daily.
