It’s impressive to see the Turkish tourism sector’s strong performance during the second quarter of 2023. According to the Turkish Statistics Authority, tourism revenues increased by 23.1% during that three-month period, reaching a total of $12,975,307,000. Additionally, the number of tourists visiting Turkey during the same period rose by 17.2% compared to the previous year, with a total of 13,995,495 tourists.

Russia, Germany, and Britain were the top three countries from which foreign visitors arrived in Turkey during June. The statistics from the Turkish Ministry of Tourism’s website also showed that Kuwaiti tourists’ number reached 163,496 during the first six months of 2023, while Saudi tourists numbered 286,000 during the same period. Iraqi tourists were the most numerous among the Arab countries visiting Turkey, with 469,947 tourists during the first six months of 2023, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In particular, Antalya had a remarkable performance during the first seven months of 2023, from January to July, as it attracted 8,011,828 tourists. This was considered a record achievement for the city.

The growth in tourism revenues and the increasing number of tourists in Turkey indicate a positive trend for the country’s tourism sector, suggesting that Turkey remains an attractive destination for international travelers.
