The General Traffic Department canceled 14,600 driving licenses of expatriates after holders of the license changed their professions and the new job did not entitle them to obtain driving licenses, Al-Rai daily reported.

According to the report, there are 1,575,000 license holders in Kuwait. 670,000 of them are citizens. 850,000 are expatriates, 30,000 are bedouns, and 25,000 for Gulf nationals.

The sources told the daily that the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Traffic Sector, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, gave instructions to traffic leaders not to be lenient in granting driving licenses.
