A total of 140,000 domestic workers have left Kuwait over the course of 3 years. Officials data shows the number of domestic workers in Kuwait has shrunk to the lowest level in 3 years, after it declined by more than 19 percent or about 140 thousand workers from 2019 to 2021.
A local Arabic daily shows the domestic workers began leaving the country from the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
