The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, revealed 1400 applicants have so far registered to take part in the “Kangaroo” mathematics competition, for which registration opened on February 12 and runs until March 11.

The Acting Director of the Talent Department, Muhammad Al-Baqshi, said, in a statement to Al-Qabas, that the increase in the number of students participating in Kuwait in less than a month reflects interest in the competition, especially as it is considered one of the largest international competitions in mathematics that was established in France in 1991.

Al-Baqshi stated that registration for the “Kangaroo” competition is available to students of all educational levels, both Kuwaitis and residents of Kuwait, and the tests will be applied in the language that suits the student, whether in Arabic or English.

Al-Baqshi indicated that this type of competition aims to enhance the passion in mathematics sciences, apply its concepts and link them to the daily life of the student, and develop his abilities and mental skills.
