The Ministry of Social Affairs said its social development sector during a campaign from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan has come across several violations most notably collecting donations without permission from the concerned authority.

Director of the Charitable Society and Charity Associations Department in the ministry, Abdulaziz Al-Ajmi, said “within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to carry out its duties to oversee the fundraising activities in the country, field inspection teams in various governorates carried out 559 inspection visits to mosques and headquarters of charity associations and removed about 90 unlicensed clothes collecting kiosks and also arrested 11 people for collecting donations without license, reports a local Arabic daily.
