The Ministry of Information said the number of media referrals to the Public Prosecution during the 2022 National Assembly elections reached 121, stressing that it did not file cases against individuals or media outlets, but was submitting a referral memorandum to the Public Prosecutor, to take the necessary measures.
In its response to a question by MP Alia Al-Khaled about the number of cases filed between September and November 2022, the ministry stated that it had referred a local newspaper twice, in addition to 29 referrals related to satellite channels, and 90 were related to electronic accounts, reports Al-Jarida daily.
