Official data revealed that citizens and residents spent about 10 billion dinars in the first 90 days of 2022. The Central Bank of Kuwait data showed that the total expenditure of citizens and residents increased by 31%, as it reached by the end of March 2022 about 9.9 billion dinars, an increase of 2.3 billion dinars, compared to 7.58 billion dinars they spent for the same period in 2021.
The period from January to the end of March 2022 witnessed an increase in spending of citizens and residents outside Kuwait by 90%, as their spending increased by 225.3 million dinars to 477 million dinars at the end of last March, compared to 251.7 million dinars for the same period in 2021, while spending by citizens and residents inside Kuwait increased by about 28.6%, with a value of 2.09 billion dinars, to be recorded at the end of March 2022, about 9.4 billion dinars, compared to 7.33 billion dinars at the end of the same period in 2021, reports a local Arabic daily.
