The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has agreed to send an exceptional oil shipment of about one million barrels of light oil to the Vietnam refinery.

A local Arabic daily quoting sources pointed out that this shipment is for one time only at the rate of 30,000 barrels per day, in contrast to the daily shipments of Kuwaiti oil estimated at 200,000 barrels per day, stressing that the shipment of light oil would increase the project’s economics in terms of outputs that are currently in demand and at a high value.

Sources stated that the KPC achieved through this shipment two goals, the first is to achieve good returns, and the second is to benefit from the project in which Kuwait participates.

The sources added: “In the end, it is a quantity that is not large, and will support the economies of the refinery and its products such as naphtha, kerosene and diesel.”
