New ‘Takaful Hajj’ initiative to reduce costs, enhance services

• The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a circular to Hajj campaign organizers, raising the percentage of administrative staff accompanying pilgrims from 2% to 5% of the total number of pilgrims.
The Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs is conducting a study on the “Takaful Hajj” project, which will soon be submitted to the Supreme Hajj Committee for review and approval, Al-Qabas newspaper has learned.
An informed source stated, “This project aims to assist and serve pilgrims before the Hajj pilgrimage begins. It aligns with the reduced costs of Hajj, the stability of the registration process, and the facilitation of pilgrimage procedures.”
In a related development, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs issued a circular to Hajj campaign organizers across the country, increasing the percentage of administrative staff accompanying pilgrims from 2% to 5% of the total number of pilgrims.
The ministry urged campaign organizers to expedite the completion of housing contracts in Mecca and Medina, as well as transportation contracts through the Nusuk Masar platform.
A ministry official explained that the deadline for completing these contracts is March 25, with no extensions. She also noted that visa issuance will proceed on a rolling basis and must be completed by April 18.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs further emphasized the importance of all Hajj campaigns strictly adhering to the Saudi authorities’ instructions for this season.
