New rule allows non-degree expats to bring families with 800 dinar salary
For family reunification, those residing or born inside Kuwait, and children under five born outside with resident parents, can be exempted from the salary requirement.

Confirming what was published by Al-Anbaa newspaper on its front page on July 16, the official newspaper Kuwait Today published the decision by Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior.
The decision amends some provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 957 of 2019 regarding the executive regulations of the Foreigners’ Residence Law.
Under the new amendment, an expatriate without a university degree is allowed to bring his wife and children on a family joining visa, provided that his salary in the work permit is 800 dinars or more.
Article 1 of the resolution states: Article 29 of Ministerial Resolution No. 957/2019 shall be amended to read as follows: To obtain a regular residence permit for family reunification for those coming from abroad, the monthly salary of a foreign resident in the country must not be less than 800 dinars. The monthly salary of a foreign resident is determined based on the wage from the profession on which their residence permit was granted.
Regarding the granting of a regular residence permit for family reunification to those residing or born inside the country, and to those born outside the country who are under five years old with parents residing in the country, the Director General of the General Administration of Residency Affairs shall be responsible for exempting them from the salary requirement referred to in the first paragraph of this article, in accordance with the controls and conditions determined by the General Administration of Residency Affairs.
As for the second article, it stipulated that the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry shall implement this decision, which shall be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
