Netflix enters short-video space with vertical feed for Mobile App

Netflix has introduced a new vertical feed for short videos within its mobile app, reflecting the growing popularity of fast-paced content like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.

Announced during its first tech event, the feature offers curated clips from Netflix originals, allowing users to watch the full show, save it, or share it with a single tap, according to a TechCrunch report.

The feed draws from the “Today’s Top Picks” section to ensure personalized recommendations and aims to boost engagement by encouraging full-series viewing. The feature will gradually roll out to iOS and Android users worldwide in the coming weeks as a new tab on the app’s homepage.

Alongside this launch, Netflix also unveiled a redesigned TV homepage, moving key shortcuts like Search and My List for easier access, adding badges for award-winning content, and enhancing real-time content recommendations based on user behavior.

This follows Netflix’s earlier “Quick Laughs” experiment in 2021 and signals a broader push to adapt to evolving viewer preferences amid rising competition from short-video platforms.
