Municipality forms central team to follow up encroachments on state property

A Kuwait Municipality source said all inspection teams across the governorate branches have been restructured in accordance with the directives of senior municipal leadership.

This move comes as part of a broader plan to intensify field inspections and address violations, with the coming period expected to witness daily campaigns focused on monitoring and removing encroachments on state property.

The source told Al-Rai that a central team is being formed to specifically follow up on these violations. The team’s responsibilities will be guided by reports from relevant departments within the municipality’s branch offices, which have identified the locations and types of existing encroachments.

“Encroachments” are defined as any unauthorized construction on public land, the fencing or occupation of state-owned plots for private or commercial purposes, or violations of setback regulations—particularly those linked to commercial establishments such as restaurants and cafes.

This initiative is part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to reinforce rule of law and protect public assets, ensuring that all use of state land is legal, regulated, and serves the public interest.
