Municipality approves one-time 1,000 dinars for licensing restaurants in spring camps

The Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Abdul Latif Al-Mishari, decided to amend the regulations for spring camps and approved a fee of 1,000 dinars to issue licenses for owners of small and medium enterprises, institutions, and companies specializing in restaurants and cafes to sell their supplies in locations specified by the Seasonal Camps Committee. This replaces the previous requirement of paying 500 dinars per month for each activity according to the Municipal Council’s decision.

This step was taken to ease the burden on owners of small and medium enterprises, after Article 11 of the seasonal camps regulations required them to pay a license issuance fee of 500 dinars for each activity per month.

In a letter reviewed by Al-Qabas, Minister Al-Mishari explained that license issuance fees are collected upon issuance or renewal. Since the seasonal camps regulations relate to a specific camping season and do not require the renewal of the activity license monthly, the fee is not collected each month.

Minister Al-Mishari pointed out that the fee will only be collected upon issuing the license, adopting the paragraph included in the draft regulation submitted by the executive body, which stipulates “paying a license issuance fee of 1,000 dinars for each activity.”
