Municipal Council greenlights land transfer to boost state treasury

The Ministry of Finance’s request to transfer lands within the irrigation area aims to address the actuarial deficit of the General Organization for Social Insurance.

During its main session on Monday, chaired by Abdullah Al-Mahri, the Municipal Council approved the Ministry of Finance’s request to transfer lands within the irrigation area to benefit the state’s general treasury.

This transfer aims to address the actuarial deficit of the General Organization for Social Insurance, according to the Al Rai newspaper reported.

In the presence of Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, the Council approved the minutes of the first extraordinary meeting of the thirteenth legislative term of the Municipal Council.

The council also recommended Alia Al-Farsi as a member of the council’s office and agreed to expand a modern water analysis laboratory building in Shuwaikh, affiliated with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.

The council expressed dissatisfaction with the response and demanded an update from the Public Authority for Roads regarding the repair of the lower part of the Al-Abdul Razzaq Gate in Kuwait City and the Mubarakiya Markets Development Project.

The Municipal Council reserved an invitation for the eleventh meeting of the Capital Governorate Committee from the second session of the thirteenth legislative term of the council. Additionally, it approved the election of chairpersons and rapporteurs for the governorate subcommittees.

The council also retained the letter from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil regarding the allocation of land for the oil complex in the Shuwaikh area to serve as the headquarters for the offices of the Ministry of Oil and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
