Sources at the Ministry of Public Works revealed that the Emergency Committee is holding a meeting today to assess the readiness of the Ministry and other government agencies for the upcoming rainy season.

According to the sources, the meeting brings together multiple relevant government entities to ensure a coordinated approach to rain-related emergencies. The agenda includes evaluating the preparedness of emergency response teams, inspecting the status of drainage equipment, and updating rapid response plans to handle potential weather-related incidents, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The committee will also review technical reports on the storm drainage network, identify areas that experienced flooding in previous years, and discuss preventative measures to minimize rainwater accumulation and flooding risks.

The sources stressed that the Ministry continuously monitors infrastructure conditions and is committed to stepping up maintenance and cleaning efforts for the drainage network across the country. These measures aim to ensure optimal performance of stormwater systems and reduce the risk of disruptions during the rainy season.
