MoSA sets up investigation committees to review cooperatives
The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) formed two investigation committees to review operations and accounts of Jaber Al-Ahmad and Al-Sabahiya cooperatives.
The investigations have been initiated based on periodic reports by the financial and administrative auditors appointed, in addition to several complaints received from shareholders regarding suspected violations within the Boards of the two cooperatives, as reported by the Arabic daily Al Jarida.
Each committee is responsible for examining the administrative papers, documents and accounting records of each association separately, studying their integrity and monitoring violations, if any. They are also looking to investigate any suspicions related to mismanagement or misconduct by those in charge during the period in question. Once completed, the report would be submitted to the Undersecretary of the Ministry in preparation for submission to the MoSA.
The report is expected to include a detailed statement of any transgressions noted, identifying those responsible, along with recommendations and proposed legal procedures to address the situation of the two associations.
