More airlines expected to operate from T1 in coming weeks

. . . as summer travel demand rises

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), said around 20 airlines have already applied to resume operations and received the necessary approvals, with flight activity expected to expand gradually in the coming days as Kuwait prepares for the busy summer travel season.

According to PACA Director of Operations Mansour Al-Hashemi, Terminal 1 resumed operations on June 1 under a phased reopening plan after a prolonged shutdown.

During the initial stage, each airline is being allowed to operate one daily round-trip service, while authorities gradually increase airport capacity and restore normal schedules.

The reopening has already seen the return of carriers such as Etihad Airways and IndiGo, while the official Kuwait Airport timetable also lists airlines including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Gulf Air, Flydubai, Air Arabia, Air India Express, EgyptAir, SalamAir, Saudi Arabian Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, and others, indicating preparations for wider operations through T1.
