MOJ launches second phase of training program to combat public funds violations
This initiative is part of Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its integrity system and bolstering the readiness of state institutions to confront any practices that may jeopardize public finances -- Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait

Minister of Justice, Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait, announced the launch of the second phase of the specialized training program for legal personnel in government agencies, developed in cooperation with the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies.
The program aims to strengthen the skills of legal employees in identifying and investigating cases involving assaults on public funds, and to enhance their preparedness in confronting such violations.
In a statement to Al-Rai, Al-Sumait revealed that official statistics recorded 107 cases of embezzlement of public funds during the first six months of 2025. These cases involved 34 government entities that were subjected to attacks or suspicions related to public funds.
The new phase of the program includes a series of lectures and workshops led by members of the judiciary and experts from regulatory and financial authorities.
It is designed to unify work methodologies, standardize legal and investigative procedures, and strengthen the capacity of government agencies to detect violations at an early stage.
The minister emphasized that the program seeks to raise the efficiency of legal staff, reinforce cooperation between government entities and oversight bodies, and support national efforts to protect state resources. He noted that enabling institutions to develop stronger governance mechanisms, improve transparency, and prevent violations is essential to safeguarding public funds.
Counselor Al-Sumait stressed that this initiative is part of Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its integrity system and bolstering the readiness of state institutions to confront any practices that may jeopardize public finances.
