MOI arrests citizen for undermining national unity via social media

The Ministry of Interior has taken into custody an unidentified Kuwait man, after his video went viral on social media outlets insulting Kuwait’s social fabric and attempting to incite division among members of society.

According to the Ministry, the suspect published a video clip, in which he blatantly mocked and disrespected a segment of society, in what was seen as an effort to undermine national unity.

Authorities confirmed that all necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect, and he will be referred to the competent judicial authorities, according to Al-Rai daily.

The Ministry stressed its firm stance against any behavior that threatens social cohesion, affirming that it will not tolerate any attempt to incite hatred, promote division, or harm national unity.

The Ministry has reiterated its commitment to taking all legal action in such cases to preserve societal harmony.
