MoE pays ‘absent expat teacher’ 105,000 dinars over 20 years

An unidentified expatriate Arabic language teacher at an elementary was reportedly received 105,000 dinars in salary payments despite being absent from work.
Between August 2004 and May 2024, she continued to receive her salary even though she did not report for work, according to an Arabic newspaper.
After the Ministry of Education filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution about the teacher’s prolonged absence and without justification from September 4, 2005, the beginning of the 2004-2005 school year, she continued to receive her salary until May 24, 2024.
The Public Prosecution, however, found no evidence of criminal activity involving public funds, as the teacher’s salary remained untouched in her account until the Ministry of Education recovered the full amount.
