Ministry pledges support for doctors and better healthcare

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, affirmed the ministry’s unwavering commitment to cultivating an environment that empowers doctors, enabling them to excel and drive advancements in healthcare.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, said that Kuwait prioritizes the health sector and remains committed to supporting it with all available resources, which reflects a firm belief that investing in people is the key to achieving sustainable development.

Dr. Abeer Al-Bazali, the Director of the Kuwait Board of Dermatology Program, highlighted that a doctor is not merely a caregiver but also a beacon of hope, compassion, and humanity.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, stated that the ministry remains committed to fostering an environment that empowers doctors and addresses the community’s healthcare needs, Q8-Press reported.

In a speech delivered during the ceremony honoring the graduates of the Kuwait Board of Dermatology for the 2022-2024 batches, minister Al-Awadhi urged the graduates to strive for excellence and continuous development.

He encouraged them to serve as role models of sincerity and mastery, emphasizing that “science and ethics are the foundation of a successful doctor.” He added that “the noble mission of doctors goes beyond providing treatment to embody hope, care, and humanity for every patient who seeks their help.”

The minister expressed his pleasure in attending this special event, celebrating the graduation of three cohorts of future dermatology specialists, who he described as the pride of Kuwait and a cornerstone in enhancing the quality of healthcare in the country.

Minister Al-Awadhi highlighted that Kuwait, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al- Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, prioritizes the health sector and remains committed to supporting it with all available resources. This reflects a firm belief that investing in people is the key to achieving sustainable development.

He proudly acknowledged the significant contributions of the Kuwait Board of Dermatology Program, established in 2003, as a pioneering model for training specialized doctors at the highest standards. Since its inception, the program has graduated distinguished national medical talents, elevating the field of dermatology both locally and regionally.

A new beginning

For her part, Dr. Abeer Al-Bazali, the Director of the Kuwait Board of Dermatology Program, stated in her speech that this celebration marks a new beginning for a professional career defined by dedication, responsibility, and a noble mission. She emphasized that the Minister of Health’s sponsorship of the event reflects the ministry’s commitment to supporting national talent and advancing the health sector.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Al-Bazali said, “Today, you stand on the threshold of a new phase, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise you have gained through years of hard work and intensive training. You have faced significant challenges, proven your capabilities, and now carry the hopes and trust of patients to alleviate their suffering and contribute to their healing.”

She highlighted that a doctor is not merely a caregiver but also a beacon of hope, compassion, and humanity. She urged the graduates to continuously develop their professional skills and stay abreast of advancements in their specialized field, reminding them that knowledge is ever-evolving and that a distinguished doctor is one who strives for excellence.

Dr. Al-Bazali added, “The State of Kuwait, under its wise leadership, recognizes that investing in human capital is an investment in the nation’s future. At the Kuwait Board of Dermatology Program, we are proud to have played a role in preparing you to contribute significantly to enhancing healthcare quality and advancing this vital specialty.”

She explained that the Kuwait Board of Dermatology is one of the training boards under the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations, comprising five years of training leading to graduation. To date, the program has produced 94 dermatologists.
