Ministry officials arrested for taking bribes, faking violations

The Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Industry employees and their partner were caught red-handed receiving 50,000 Kuwaiti dinars as part of an agreed bribe of 200,000 Kuwaiti dinars and were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

The Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Industry affirms that the law will be applied to everyone without exception and that security personnel are vigilant against anyone who attempts to undermine the Kuwait’s security.

The Criminal Security Sector, led by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Investigations Department, has arrested Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Industry employees and their partner. They are accused of abusing their positions to accept bribes in exchange for overlooking commercial violations and fabricating false ones, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

The details of the incident were revealed after detectives received information about individuals exploiting their positions and accepting bribes. After obtaining the necessary legal authorization, the accused were caught red-handed receiving a sum of 50,000 Kuwaiti dinars as part of an agreed bribe of 200,000 Kuwaiti dinars. They were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Interior’s security services to enhance security and fight corruption. The ministry affirms that the law will be applied to everyone without exception and that security personnel are vigilant against anyone who attempts to undermine the country’s security.
