The Ministry of Oil launched today, Monday, the “Partners in Rationalization and Saving” campaign.
It is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to raise community awareness and educate the public, according to reports by Q8-Press.
Campaign objectives and initiatives
Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media in the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamadhar Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, told KUNA that the ministry, in light of its social responsibility and within the state’s directions to follow a policy of rationalization, launched the campaign to improve the efficiency of electricity consumption.
This is particularly important during peak times, which witness an increase in total energy consumption.
Sheikha Tamadhar Al-Sabah indicated that the campaign includes awareness and education about the importance of rationalizing electricity and ways to achieve it. The campaign also includes publishing guidelines and tips to reduce energy consumption in homes and offices.
She stated that the campaign also aims to change the behavior of individuals by pushing them to adopt new habits.
This can contribute to reducing losses, improving energy efficiency, and protecting the environment by reducing carbon emissions.
Additionally, it aims to reduce the negative impact on the environment and provide financial savings by helping families and companies save money through reduced electricity bills.
Social media and outreach efforts
The Ministry of Oil has published several posts on social media urging the rationalization of electricity consumption and providing tips to consumers on how to use electrical appliances, lighting, and air conditioning efficiently.
The ministry is also working on preparing a podcast containing tips on rationalization that are of interest to consumers.
Renewable energy projects
She pointed out that the model project for using solar photovoltaic energy in the oil sector complex, which is considered a complementary source for supplying the building with electricity, was also reviewed.
The renewable energy production that the project will achieve is about 10 percent of the total electricity consumption of the oil sector complex building.
Sheikha Tamadhar Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said that this project is a model step towards the practical application of renewable energy and contributes to raising public awareness regarding the use of solar energy technologies.
Upcoming seminar and exhibition
She indicated that the Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department will organize a seminar in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy after tomorrow, Wednesday.
This seminar will include the participation of specialists from the ministry to discuss ways to rationalize and learn about the “Incentive” program.
This program is said to include incentives and discounts for consumers to achieve the common benefit of the Ministry of Electricity and consumers. The seminar will be accompanied by a live exhibition in the lobby of the oil sector complex.
