Ministerial Resolution No. 561 adjusts traffic law regulations and speeding fines

Ministerial Resolution No. 561 of 2025, issued by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef, amends provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 1976/81 regarding the executive regulations of the Traffic Law.

Published in “Kuwait Alyawm,” the resolution revises Article (211) bis of the previous ministerial resolution to adjust the settlement amounts for exceeding the maximum speed limit, reports Al-Rai daily.

The new settlement fees, based on the extent of the speed violation, are as follows:

  • Seventy dinars for exceeding the speed limit by up to 20 kilometers.
  • Eighty dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 kilometers but up to 30 kilometers.
  • Ninety dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 kilometers but up to 40 kilometers.
  • One hundred dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 kilometers but up to 50 kilometers.
  • One hundred and twenty dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 kilometers but up to 60 kilometers.
  • One hundred and thirty dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 kilometers but up to 70 kilometers.
  • One hundred and fifty dinars for exceeding the speed limit by more than 70 kilometers.

    The settlement amounts are in line with the provisions of Clause (7) of Article (41) of Decree-Law No. 2025/5, which amended some provisions of Decree-Law No. 1976/67 regarding traffic regulations.
