Minister tours new airport project to boost aviation infrastructure

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, reaffirmed her strong commitment to enhancing Kuwait’s air transport network by adopting the highest international standards in the civil aviation industry.

• Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Acting Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, inspected the new airport project to review the implementation of Terminal 2 and its three packages, including finishing work on the main building and air conditioning installation ahead of summer.

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Acting Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, underscored efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the air transport sector, Al Qabas newspaper reported.

This took place during an inspection visit to the new airport project to follow up on the implementation phases of the new passenger terminal (T2) and monitor the progress of its three packages.

The tour included a visit to the main building, where Al-Mashaan inspected finishing work on the facilities and the air conditioning operation to ensure proper installation ahead of the summer season. She also inspected the parking building and was briefed on the latest project developments.

The minister reviewed work on Package 3, which includes earthworks for aircraft stands, excavation and infrastructure works, and concrete pouring and reinforcement for service buildings.

Ensuring the project’s completion

The visit aimed to assess the project’s progress, with the minister receiving a detailed briefing from officials on ongoing work and challenges.

Al-Mashaan reaffirmed her strong commitment to developing the country’s air transport infrastructure by adopting the highest international standards in the civil aviation industry. She emphasized the need for coordination to resolve outstanding issues related to the new airport terminal (T2).

Quality and efficiency

She called for the swift completion of all work while maintaining the required quality and efficiency, in line with approved technical specifications and the agreed-upon timeline.

She also underscored the importance of coordination with the General Authority of Civil Aviation, stressing the government’s commitment to utilizing all available resources and providing the necessary facilities to ensure the project’s completion and the seamless operation of all airport services as scheduled.
