Minister Al-Mishaan inaugurates Fifth Ring Road Tunnel towards Jahra today

The Ministry of Public Works has reaffirmed the report published by Al-Jarida on January 18, which stated that the Fifth Ring Road Tunnel would open in March. The Ministry has announced that Minister Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan will officially inaugurate the tunnel towards Jahra today, Saturday, 1st March, at 3:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Public Works stated that the tunnel’s opening is part of the Fifth Ring Road development project, designed to enhance traffic flow and ease congestion in key areas, including Al-Siddiq, Al-Salam, Hatteen, Surra, and Cordoba.

The Ministry highlighted that the Fifth Ring Road development project includes the construction of a tunnel in both directions, featuring sub-paths leading to Surra and Cordoba, as well as to Al-Siddiq and Al-Salam. Additionally, the project involves converting Damascus Street into an overpass.

The General Authority for Roads and Land Transport prioritized accelerating the tunnel’s completion despite facing numerous challenges related to the existing old infrastructure at the site.
