As part of the ongoing overhaul of Kuwait’s road infrastructure, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan is spearheading radical maintenance work in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area under newly launched contracts for highway and inland road restoration. This initiative is a key component of 18 major maintenance projects spanning all six governorates.
Al-Mishaan stated that road maintenance will begin in the most affected areas before progressing to less damaged ones, with strict control, supervision, and follow-up on all work. She emphasized that teams from the Ministry of Public Works will oversee the implementation process, ensuring quality and efficiency. Additionally, a committee has been formed to select supervising engineers and conduct tests to assess their capabilities, ensuring effective project management.
Importantly, Al-Mishaan reaffirmed the commitment to carrying out road maintenance projects across all regions while ensuring high-quality standards that align with international benchmarks. She emphasized that investing in infrastructure not only enhances road conditions but also drives economic growth, improves the quality of life, and supports sustainable development.
In a related context, Engineer Mohammed Al-Moussawi from the Supervision Department stated that as part of the “Al-Farwaniya Governorate Project Scope No. 2,” ministry teams are actively working between plots 2 and 4 to assess progress on the new contracts for radical road maintenance. He noted that the work includes applying a 5 cm asphalt layer to improve road quality and durability.
Al-Moussawi urged citizens and residents to stay updated through the General Directorate of Traffic regarding upcoming road closures to help prevent congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow.
