Masar Initiative garners support for digital transformation
Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, Acting Director General of the Information Technology Agency, announced yesterday that the “Masar” initiative, overseen by the agency, received positive reception during the meeting of the 11 Arab e-government directors in Dubai.
The initiative garnered approval and interest from participating countries for its significant role in advancing digital transformation within government agencies, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Al-Husseini, speaking to KUNA following the meeting organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and hosted by the UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, emphasized that “Masar” contributes to assisting government agencies in formulating their digital transformation roadmaps based on their competencies and priorities.
“We were honored to present the visual presentation outlining the objectives, methodology, and implementation of the Masar Initiative,” stated Al-Husseini. He highlighted that Arab countries’ representatives expressed admiration for the initiative and expressed their desire to cooperate in implementing it in their respective countries.
Regarding key topics discussed during the meeting, Al-Husseini highlighted ESCWA’s work in supporting digital transformation across Arab countries, as well as the presentation of important initiatives, expertise, projects, and experiments by participating nations.
He stressed the importance of such meetings in enhancing international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the digital transformation realm, underscoring the agency’s commitment to providing better services to citizens.
Additionally, Engineer Abdul Karim Al-Fawzan, head of the agency’s digital services planning and development department, discussed the “Sahl Lab” initiative. Established under the supervision of the Ministry of State for Communications Affairs, “Sahl Lab” aims to engage stakeholders and specialists from various societal groups to gather feedback and improve the unified government application “easy.”
