
The Maharashtra Mandal (MMK) Kuwait, kicked off its first cultural event of 2025 with great enthusiasm on Friday, January 24, celebrating Makar Sankranti and Republic Day. Held at ICSK Khaitan School, the event welcomed over 350 attendees, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
The evening’s highlight was the mesmerizing musical performance, “Swar Zankar” by renowned artists from Maharashtra—Shamika Bhide, Mayur Sukale, Darshana Jog, Divyesh Bapat, Prasad Padhye, and Hanumant Ravade. Their soulful renditions of Marathi melodies and Bollywood classics captivated the audience, including esteemed dignitaries in attendance.
At the same time, MMK preserved its traditional essence by organizing Bor-Nhaan, a traditional Maharashtrian ritual for babies, Haldi-Kunku for women, and serving authentic delicacies like Wada-Pav along with tea, coffee, and dinner packets.
The President, Mrs. Radhika Raghav Sadekar, and General Secretary, Mrs. Babita Rajendra Patil, introduced the 2025 Executive Committee of MMK, outlining their vision and mission for the year.
The President and General Secretary also announced the upcoming launch of the MMK Mobile App, a significant step toward digital transformation for the community.

The Maharashtra Mandal Kuwait (MMK), established in 1982 and registered with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, has steadily grown over 43 years into a thriving socio-cultural organization.
As a non-profit and non-political entity, MMK serves as a platform for members to showcase and nurture their cultural talents while preserving Maharashtra’s rich heritage. Today, it proudly represents a diverse community of over 500 members working across various sectors in Kuwait.
